Biography

Cassie Kottke grew up in the Midwest where she spent her childhood in the outdoors split between a small farming community and remote Northern Wisconsin. Cassie studied art at the University of Wisconsin Green Bay where she received her Bachelors degree in fine art and graphic design. She later went on to further her art education and recently graduated from the Milan Institute of Art.

Cassie was interested in art at an early age and even had a piece of artwork chosen to travel around the world for an exhibit while she was a child. She contributes some of her early interest in art to her time watching “The Joy of Painting” with Bob Ross on public television and to this day she strives to bring this Bob Ross energy to the art classes that she teaches and to her own work. To quote Bob Ross, “It’s the Imperfections that make something beautiful, that’s what makes it different and unique from everything else.”

Today Cassie works in a beautiful studio overlooking the Wolf River in Waupaca County, Wisconsin. Her painting style continues to evolve as she experiments with different styles and media. She is currently working on a series of work that blends abstraction with realism. Her work combines a variety of different mediums including watercolor, collage, acrylic, inks, and oil. Her other artistic passion is teaching others and she offers a variety of beginner art classes both in person and online.

It’s the Imperfections that make something beautiful, that’s what makes it different and unique from everything else.
